The course is about the same length as 102 Olympic-sized pools and follows the shore from the foot of the I-90 bridge to Madison Park. Whoever finishes first wins a whole salmon. Need a new challenge? Find room on your summer calendar for one of these classic endurance events. The Tri/Cycle Club picked the toughest swim, bike ride, and run in the Northwest. "There's something magical about getting in your own zone climbing a hill," WAC member and former RAMROD winner Jack Anderson says. Anyone in good shape can do the ride, Jack says, but "it's a day's work." Afterward, going to the office might seem like fun. King salmon can swim as many as 33 miles per day.
