Written by Naomi Thalenberg { DOUG DARLINGTON } Member since 2006 LONGTIME FRIENDS COME TOGETHER AT THE WAC { M E M B E R T O M E M B E R } D oug Darlington first heard about the WAC while working at his previous job in Two Union Square. He's now a partner at MCM in downtown Seattle, so his work locations have made it easy to get to the Clubhouse. "The nice thing about the Club is that you see the same faces each day," he says. "I feel like I can truly kick back and be myself. I don't think you can find that anywhere else in the city." Doug moved to Seattle from Leavenworth. Upon arriving, he knew he needed a place that would make him feel at home. He tried a few different clubs before finding his perfect fit at the WAC. Doug works out with WAC Personal Trainer Will Whatley. "Will's become a good friend," Doug says. "I've seen great results from fitness classes and personal training. I'd recommend them to anyone." After eight years at the Club, Doug recently decided to plug himself into more events. "It's amazing how much is available here," he says. "It's never too late to get involved with something new." Through the years, Doug has introduced many of his associates and friends to the Club and sponsored them as new members. When long-time friend Stephanie Percy asked, he was thrilled. 16 | Washington Athletic Club Magazine | APRIL 2014
