20 | Washington Athletic Club Magazine | APRIL 2014 Teamworks OCTOBER ELIZABETH AVILA BILLING SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE NOVEMBER QUENTIN GONZALES BANQUET SERVER Quentin Gonzales started working at the Club in 1999. He says his favorite thing about his job is the team of banquet servers he works with. Quentin is respected by his fellow teammates for being efficient and dedicated. "He works hard," says Banquet Server Eddie Thomas. "He cares so much about the members and truly goes above and beyond to take care of them." Eddie says Quentin also takes good care of his team, going the extra mile to help with whatever is needed. "He is dedicated to the WAC mission and respects the values of the Club," he adds. Banquet Supervisor Ben Stanton agrees. "The diligence and dedication demonstrated by Quentin has been recognized by our Club members and colleagues alike," Ben says. "We have all noticed the enthusiasm and extra hours Quentin puts forth to ensure that everyone receives the top- notch service our clients have grown accustomed to." Adds Quentin: "The Club has taken really good care of me over the years." Elizabeth started as a Member Services receptionist in 2011. A few months later, she stepped in to fill an opening in Accounting and started splitting her time between the 9th Floor and the Skinner Building, home of the WAC Accounting offices. It wasn't long before she made the move permanent. "Elizabeth does a fantastic job assisting our membership," WAC Controller Sandy Cramer says. Whether members are asking how to pay their bill online or trying to figure out which one of their children charged something at the Sports Café, Elizabeth provides answers and loves to help. "She never gets rattled, and she always has a smile," Sandy says. "We consider ourselves lucky to have her as one of the Accounting team." Elizabeth says one of her favorite parts about working at the WAC is knowing how much her co-workers care about her. For example, she says, they put on a surprise baby shower late last year before she gave birth to her first child. DECEMBER LESLIE BURGOS LAUNDRY ATTENDANT TEAM MEMBER OF THE MONTH When Leslie came to Seattle from El Salvador in May of 2012, she didn't expect to find a job she would end up loving. Two months after moving to Seattle, Leslie began working at the WAC as a laundry attendant. She says her job at the WAC is her favorite yet. Executive Housekeeper Eva Vasquez says Leslie is easy-going and always willing to assist. "She's always happy to volunteer for shift coverage when it's needed," Eva says. "She's also a stickler for completing any task at hand." Leslie takes pride in her work and enjoys helping others. Leslie also works for Torchy's on the weekends. "I'm so happy to work at the WAC," she says. "It's my first job in the U.S., and I feel very blessed to have met wonderful people at the Club. When people ask me where I work, I am proud to say I work here."
