{ memBer to memBer } Written by Suzie Schofield | Photography by Barbara Kinney College teammates to together Come at the WaC W WaC { Courtney ClaPP } Member since 2010 W hen Courtney Clapp first heard about the WAC, she was living in Bellingham. Her good friend Erika Ensign was a WAC trainer who also coached and helped start the Club's women's basketball team. "Erika kept asking me to come down and join to the team," Courtney says. "But it was a long commute, and I wasn't sure whether I wanted to commit." After attending a few games and joining Erika and others for a beer at Hagerty's, Courtney got excited about what a membership could offer her. She took the tour and joined the Club in 2010, practicing weekly with the basketball team—even though she still lived in Bellingham. "I had such a great time on the team and made some awesome friends," Courtney says. "It was a great experience being able to play competitively again, so I told my friend Krystal about it." 18 | Washington Athletic Club Magazine | June / July 2013
