Teamworks Team member January of The monTh Diana ChitiCari-yerkes Club shop About two years ago, Diana Chiticari-Yerkes started parttime at the WAC as Spa Coordinator. Not long after her hire, Diana also became part-time Wellness Administrative Assistant. This past January, she was promoted to Club Shop Assistant Manager. "I'm a multi-tasker," Diana explains. "I'm always excited about new responsibilities and new tasks." As the Club Shop Assistant Manager, Diana helps oversee the current renovation of the shop, including its staff, inventory and sales. Merchandising & Spa Operations Manager Suzana Sakay praises Diana for her ambition and dedication. "She's very creative," Suzana says. "She is always pushing to find a solution and cares about the Club and the members." Adds Fitness Manager Megan Usui: "She truly understands hospitality." February anna rivera harry lubas ✪ Four years ago, Diana wed on the seattle waterfront. she and her husband wore leather jackets and Converse sneakers. she calls it a "rock star wedding." ✪Diana and her husband recently adopted their first baby … a guinea pig named gertrude. DiD you knoW? ✪ anna moved to seattle in 2002 from Manila. her native tongue is tagalog, and she keeps up with Filipino soap operas daily. ✪ she loves to play outside with her 4-year-old daughter, aryanna. ✪anna enjoys cooking Filipino food, including traditional adobo cuisine. inn at the WaC Harry's big and welcoming smile is one of the first things members see when they enter the Club. Harry began his career at the WAC four years ago. Since then, his friendly and happy spirit has uplifted members' and visitors' stays at the Club. Harry is passionate about building lasting relationships with members. "Making deep connections with members is what I look forward to each day," he says. His easy-going and positive attitude puts members and team members at ease. Club Programs Event Coordinator Cheryl Simmons praises Harry. "Every single time I have any kind of business to take care of at the front desk, Harry is more than helpful," Cheryl says. Harry also is an expert trainer for new team members, providing them with the right tools to succeed at the Club. Inn at the WAC Front Office Manager Kamil Turczanski adds: "Harry exemplifies leadership." 22 | Washington Athletic Club Magazine | JUNE / JULY 2013 ✪ Diana speaks five languages: english, russian, romanian, French and german. she grew up in Moldova. housekeeping The Inn at the WAC is known for its wonderful accommodations and world-class rooms. Housekeeping Attendant Anna Rivera joined the team seven years ago. "I love it here at the WAC," Anna says. "Whenever my team has an issue or a problem, we solve it together." WAC Executive Housekeeper Eva Vasquez praises Anna. "She is a pleasure to work with and her everyday attributes should be shared among all," Eva says. Anna's positive attitude and determination are essential qualities that help make her team a success. She is a great communicator and is always willing to help wherever she's needed. "Not only is she a good worker, but she's a very sweet person as well," Engineering Administrative Assistant Patty Smith says. Adds Inn Reservations Manager Amanda Widdice: "Anna is always on top of it." MarCh DiD you knoW? DiD you knoW? ✪ harry was born in the philippines and spent most of his childhood in guam. he speaks two Filipino dialects and a bit of Japanese. ✪ he spent two years singing with the seattle Men's Chorus. ✪he is the youngest of seven children. three of his siblings still live in guam.
