Using the Club House rules help define who we are By Michelle Van Slack, Director Member Services T he Club is buzzing with new members following WAC Friends & Family. That makes this a perfect time to highlight a few basic rules all members should know. Entering the Club When you enter the Club, you should present your membership card with your photograph facing the security officer. This helps maintain our distinction as a private club while also ensuring the security of all members. Welcoming guests Members are encouraged to share the Club with friends, family, and business associates. But there are limits. Members must accompany their guests through security unless they are checking in to the Inn. If your guests don't arrive with you, they will be welcomed by security and invited to wait for you in the seating area of the lobby. Dress code Once you're in the Club, the dress of choice is business casual. Athletic attire is permitted when moving through the lobby to access athletic areas or when checking in to the Inn. At a minimum, clean and modest attire without holes is expected. Some Club locations do have different dress codes, pricing, guest frequency restrictions, and daily use fees. Here's a quick breakdown: • Club restaurants: Guests welcome! Business or informal attire is appropriate—even jeans. Active workout clothes are not permitted, however. In all venues, a shower is BY THE BOOK expected after vigorous exercise. Please refrain from entering when still sweaty. • Spa: Guests welcome! Guest rates apply. Call the Spa for details and appointments (206.464.3090). • Fitness areas: Guests must be 18 or older, accompanied by a member, and will be charged an $18 day-use fee. Each guest is limited to three visits every six months. Clean workout shirts and shoes are required. Only nonmarking soles are permitted on courts. Printing on clothing must be in good taste. After vigorous exercise, you are encouraged to exit using the stairwells and Runners Entrance if not showering first. Call Coed Fitness for more (206.464.3098). • Pool: Guests must be accompanied by a member and will be charged a $5 day-use fee. Non-swimmers and children 6 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Each guest is limited to three visits every six months. Guests are not allowed to take swim lessons. Swim trunks for men and bathing suits for women are required. When using the elevator pre- or post-swim, you must wear bathrobes or full- length warm-up suits to cover swimwear. Call the pool for more (206.464.3086). • Inn: Guests of members are welcome to stay overnight. Guest rates apply. Call the Inn for more (206.464.3055). The WAC is a bustling multiuse club. Our house rules, guest access, and dress code attempt to reflect the diversity of activities we host. For more specifics, the complete WAC Bylaws and House Rules are available in the members-only area of wac.net.
