Rock Climbing at Vertical World 6th annual scavenger Hunt on lake union 1–2 | Grey Gardens 4 | Bertha and the New Waterfront Tunnel Friday, July 26 4, 11, 18 | WAC Toastmasters The WAC's most popular annual summer event saw an upset last year when the three-time champion team was defeated. Will the team regain its title? Or will a new team cruise to victory? Begin by selecting someone to captain and pilot your 10-person electric Duffy boat before heading into a heated (but friendly) competition afloat. As you race around Lake Union, your mission is to solve a list of crafty clues and puzzling riddles to determine the identity of items visible from the lake. You have two hours to complete the task. The first boat to return with the most correct answers wins a prize. Each year the scavenger hunt has a new set of clues, so everyone has a fair shot. Since you'll be burning up brain fuel, plentiful platters of finger foods, sweets, bottled water, and soft drinks are included onboard. You also may bring your own beer or wine to help energize your creative thinking. Put together your own team of 10, or we'll partner you at the dock when we meet on the west side of Lake Union. Remember, it's not about who wins or loses, it's about how much fun you have while playing the game. This event is an entertaining WAC tradition perfect for singles, couples and groups. Can Can's intimate underground setting is evocative of Paris at the turn of the 20th century, which is fitting for an old-fashioned adult variety show. The entertainment features burlesque beauties, nouveau cabaret dance numbers, amazing acrobatics, and bawdy comedy. We have reserved the VIP section for their late-night show CHICHI, featuring Can Can's own dance troupe, The Castaways. This seductive spectacle features Roaring '20s flirty flapper girls, dashing and dapper gentlemen, and classic dance styles twisted with inspiration from dance legend Bob Fosse. Start with appetizers and no-host beverages in Hagerty's Clubroom before walking to First and Pike, where you'll enjoy group seating near the stage. Admission includes a $20 credit per person toward Can Can's French/Italian menu of appetizers, salads, desserts, or luxurious made-from-scratch cocktails. Space is limited, so reserve early for this hot summer night of classy decadence. For more information, visit thecancan.com.
