This unique experience begins at the WAC with Sean Patrick Taylor, a multitalented Seattle Shakespeare Company actor who will preview The Tempest, the play being performed later in the evening. While Taylor's knowledge of Shakespeare helps you understand the play, a glass of mead—a honey-based Elizabethan fermented wine—will take you back in time and prepare your palate to experience Seattle Shakespeare Company's performance. After the preview, we'll depart via private motor coach for Luther Burbank Park on Mercer Island. At the park, let Shakespeare feed your soul and relax with an English-inspired picnic featuring baguette, ham, wedge of cheese, hard-boiled egg, small salad, apple, dessert tart, and a glass of beer or wine. You may also bring your own bottle of wine to add to your picnic. Event includes pre-play speaker, glass of mead, round-trip coach from the WAC, play, English picnic, and one glass of beer or wine. 5–10 pm; $56; cancel by July 31 Mezcal Tasting: Beyond the Worm at Poquitos Tuesday, August 13 Mezcal, the smokier cousin of tequila, is emerging onto the scene.
