I am truly honored to represent our membership and to work closely with our executive team. I also would like to thank 2012–2013 Chairman Jeff Atkin for his leadership and mentorship during the past year. I joined the WAC because at the time my husband and I wanted a place to workout where our children could also learn to swim. That was our routine until I learned that I could add a massage to our Saturday outings because the kids were having such a grand time during their visits to WeeWACs. I also attended a few Winemaker Dinners and became a charter member of the WAC Wine Club. Then life happened. I found myself as a single working mother of two teenagers. Wanting to maintain a social life, as well, I decided to attend Jubilee without a date for the first time. A light-bulb moment occurred when I walked into Jubilee dealer training and realized I didn't need a date because I would be among friends—that is to say fellow WAC members—the entire night. Whether we were born in Seattle or moved here recently, we are all members of the best city athletic club in the country. I have met my closest friends at the WAC, and they have been with me in times of great grief and enormous joy. As a business professional, I consider the WAC the most important place to network in the Seattle business community. Whether you are a 40-year member or brand new, my advice is to engage. Be willing to try the wonderful activities the Club has to offer. Sample our new happy hour, add a group fitness class to your workout routine, or grab tickets for one of the wonderful shows offered through Club Programs. When you put your effort into something, good things happen. Let's make something great happen together at the WAC. Best,
