N E W Land of the Sweets: The Burlesque Nutcracker at The Triple Door Wednesday, December 14 Seattle's award-winning wintertime spectacle of striptease pageantry returns for its 11th incarnation. Giving e Nutcracker a bawdy makeover, this show has delighted thousands of holiday revelers since 2006. Spend the evening in a world of adult winter magic with playful banter, amazing costumes, and impressive technical dancing with a sensuous twist—all sure to warm you up on a cold night. This time around we're adorning our gala with Mardi Gras–inspired decor. The N E W Jubilee Casino Dealer Training Mondays; November 14, 21 & 28 Volunteer as a dealer or assistant in the Jubilee Casino at the WAC's 87th Jubilee anniversary celebration on Friday, December 4. You can hone your skills or learn to play craps, roulette and blackjack. You can also volunteer as a card shuffler and runner. Training sessions are informative, fun and casual, and include a light dinner buffet with beverages. It's a great way to meet other members and is perfect for singles or couples. New dealers should attend all sessions and will work a two-hour shift on Jubliee night—the rest of the evening is for you to enjoy the party. Training is for WAC members only. 6–8 pm; complimentary N E W Seattle International Comedy Competition Night 1 Finals! Tuesday, November 22 The Crystal Ballroom turns Comedy Club for one night as the Seattle International Comedy Competition kicks off finals week. The top five comedians compete for the night's highest score, top honors, and prizes. The pressure is on as the comedians take the stage for 20 minutes to perform their best material. This isn't your average comedy competition; it's bigger and bound to be hilarious! Check the November/ December issue of WAC Magazine for more details. Includes comedy show, dinner buffet, and dessert plus validated parking in the WAC Garage. 7 pm buffet, 8–10 pm show; $40 per person (show, parking); $68 per person (buffet, show and parking), $360 (group of 6); cancel by November 14 N E W Jubilee: Celebrating the WAC's 87th Year Friday, December 2 Raise your glass and toast the official kick- off of the WAC's 87th year! Eat, drink and be merry at this black-tie event. The party to end all parties, Jubilee features amazing food, libations, music, entertainment, and casino gambling. Hot Party 10 at Seattle Glassblowing Studio Fridays; September 23, September 30, or October 7 Work alongside professional artists at this downtown state-of-the-art hot shop to create two items of your choice. You'll select your colors, dip the molten blob into crushed colored glass, fire it in the kilns, and then blow to the perfect size and shape. You can make pumpkins, fruit sculptures, ornaments, bowls, or vases! After they cool for a few days, your objets d'art may be picked up at the Club. The evening includes wine, beer, bottled water, appetizers, and a dinner buffet. The relaxed setup allows you to eat while watching others take turns blowing their one-of-a-kind glass treasures. Class size limited to 12.
