She is a trained intuitive, herbalist, and feng shui practitioner. DID YOU KNOW? ✪ D.B. was born in Bhutan and migrated to Nepal before moving to the U.S. ✪ His greatest joy is playing with his baby girl in his spare time. ✪ He enjoys watching sports, especially soccer. DID YOU KNOW? ✪ Gary and his family went to Germany last year. He hopes to travel to Europe again this year. He would love to see Ireland. ✪ Gary wishes he had worked at the WAC longer. That's how much he loves his job. ✪ He says he would never go back to working at street restaurants after bartending for the WAC. Teamworks LORI MASAKI PASTRY CHEF A WAC employee since 2013, Pastry Chef Lori Masaki has introduced many new and unique flavors to the WAC palate. A Honolulu native, Lori draws extensively upon her knowledge of Hawaiian cuisine and her Japanese heritage to create the decadent treats enjoyed by members. From introducing exotic new dishes such as her Douglas fir sorbet to upholding WAC dessert traditions, Lori is sincerely dedicated to creating the best possible product. Executive Chef Eric Floyd describes Lori as "a true culinary professional." Her extensive experience as a pastry chef and positive attitude makes everyone's job easier. "She is highly creative, inspiring and loyal," Eric says. "She goes the extra mile every day. She strives for perfection, and all of her work is second to none. The WAC is truly blessed to have such an amazing individual on our team." Vice President Food & Beverage Peter Christian echoes that sentiment. "Lori leads by example in the way she communicates with others and helps promote a positive work environment," he says. DID YOU KNOW? ✪ Lori started cooking with her dad when she was 6 years old. ✪ Lori attended Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Portland, Oregon. ✪ Before working at the WAC, Lori was the pastry chef at Crush for almost four years.
