14 | Washington Athletic Club Magazine | NOVEMBER / DECEMBER 2015 RON ERICKSON recently had the pleasure of racing his 1957 Corvette at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. The annual event brings together car enthusiasts from around the world and attracts some of the most beautiful vehicles ever made. A WAC member since 1998, Ron is a lawyer, entrepreneur and investor. He is also the founder and CEO of Visualant Inc., a Seattle technology company. WAC member AARON THORNBURG recently touched the top of Africa for a good cause. Aaron hiked to the summit of 19,341-foot Mount Kilimanjaro with the Boos family of Mercer Island—Wally, Rose, Grace and Bronwyn. The climb raised money for St. Ignatius School in Kigali, Rwanda. The school serves disadvantaged children and adolescents and was founded by Aaron's friend Jean Baptiste Ganza, a Rwandan genocide survivor, Jesuit priest, and graduate school alum of Seattle University. Aaron is an attorney and adjunct professor of international business at Seattle University. He joined the WAC earlier this year and also plays on the newly formed WAC men's soccer team. Fellow WAC member Jamie Van Horne, an experienced fundraiser and business consultant, helped Aaron and the Booses develop their campaign to support St. Ignatius School. HISTORIC RACING DAN WEEDIN, a business strategist, speaker, author, and internationally recognized executive coach recently published his latest book— Unleashed Leadership: Maximizing Talent & Performance by Opening the Gates of Opportunity— with Kitsap Publishing. Dan has consulted widely with business leaders nationwide, including those from State Farm Insurance, the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, Kitsap Bank, and more. A graduate of the University of Washington's history department, Dan is also a member of the Million Dollar Consulting Hall of Fame and has placed among the top 100 Toastmasters in the world.
