The campy musical is based on the 1960s cult film, and blends doo-wop, rock, and Motown into a hilarious send-up of B-movie horror flicks. Seymour is a florist's clerk, who buys and nourishes a Venus flytrap-like plant, which he names after his beloved co-worker Audrey. Things start to get out of hand when the plant develops an insatiable appetite for human flesh. The memorable score includes the title song plus, "Skid Row (Downtown)," "Somewhere That's Green," "Dentist!" and "Suddenly, Seymour."
