Travel as foot passengers on the Seattle-to-Bainbridge ferry. When we arrive in Winslow, a private motor coach will meet us. Our driver will narrate Bainbridge Island history and facts as we head to the award-winning Bloedel Reserve, a public garden and forest preserve. Celebrating its 25th year, this 150-acre internationally renowned reserve was created by the vice chairman of a lumber company whose vision was to provide refreshment and tranquility in the presence of natural beauty. Enjoy a docent-led stroll through the rhododendrons, bird refuge, native forest, hydrangea gardens, Japanese garden, reflection pond, moss garden, and the Bloedels former estate home. Good walking shoes are a must as we will spend two hours in the magnificent and mostly level reserve. After our walk, its off to Poulsbo (aka Little Norway) for lunch at J.J.s Fish House. Then browse quaint shops before exploring waterfront arts, crafts and food booths, and taking in entertainment set up for the first day of the annual Viking Fest, a celebration of Poulsbos Scandinavian heritage. Our driver will narrate the return to Winslow for the 3:50 pm ferry back to Seattle. Ferry fare not included. 9:30 am4:30 pm; $62; cancel by May 8 30 N EW 1 | Just for Teens!
