WAC EnginEEring AdministrAtivE Assistant Patty smith was shocked when she heard her name called as the 2013 WAC team member of the Year. ���i asked my husband that night���did they really call my name?��� she says, grinning. Although much of Patty���s work is behind the scenes, her efforts can be seen throughout the Club. during her 14 years at the WAC, Patty has helped oversee many projects, including renovations to the 9th Floor, the hotel bathrooms, and the recent lobby remodel. When a maintenance issue arises inside the building, Patty gets the call and dispatches the appropriate people. taking care of an old building like the WAC Get your fix online W A S H I N G T O N A T H L E T I C can be challenging. in her office, the phone rings relentlessly, and a radio sits on top of her desk. Patty describes her job as unpredictable���from dealing with flooding to changing light bulbs. ���she epitomizes our core values here at the Club,��� WAC Building Operations manager dennis Williams says. ���she does whatever it takes to get the job done���and always with a smile.��� Away from work, Patty enjoys the outdoors and spending time with family, including her four granddaughters. Patty���s 2013 team member of the Year Award comes 13 years after she received the same award in 2000, making her the first two-time winner of the award. ���i���m proud to say i work at the WAC,��� she says. This is a core exercise for any athlete involved in rotational movement���and anyone else who turns or twists during any activity. it���s beneficial for developing awareness and stability of the torso and shoulders. 1. Start in push-up position. Shift your weight to one side. 2. keeping your arms straight, pivot torso and shoulders together at the same time. 3. rotate back to push-up position. Perform on opposite side. repeat.
