She dropped a tea light into a handmade colorful glass cup and found great hope and healing in the sooth- ing light. This inspired her to begin making glass votives and give them away to spread hope. She started glassybaby to do more. Today, the sturdy uniquely shaped votive/glass/vase known as a "glassybaby" is handmade by a team of 70 Seattle art- ists in more than 400 brilliant colors. The company donates a portion of sales to charities dedicated to healing and helping medical patients in need. Join us as we visit the Madrona headquarters' main retail store and glassblowing studio to learn the story of glassybaby and watch a demonstration by the hot shop team. We'll also browse the store for gifts and enjoy a casual lunch around the corner at the Hi Spot Cafe, a restaurant serving fresh local food in an old Victorian home.
