16 | Washington Athletic Club Magazine | OCTOBER 2014 Athletics A SWINGING SUMMER The WAC Golf Club wrapped up a stellar summer of play. The annual WAC Club Championship took place August 16 at Trophy Lake Golf Course in Port Orchard. Chris Dickens shot the low men's gross, and Barbara Owens the low women's gross. Low-net winners were Greg Owens and Marge Thorgrimson. The Golf Club is open to all WAC members and a great way to play courses throughout Puget Sound. Details of the 2015 season will appear in the April/May edition of WAC Magazine. A CELEBRATION OF RACING SUCCESS Tri/Cycle Club members ran, biked and swam to another busy summer of racing. They'll be celebrating a season of accomplishment and planning their latest and greatest endeavors during a fall social. Join the fun at 6 pm on Thursday, October 23, in Hagerty's Clubroom. All WAC members and guests interested in joining the Tri/ Cycle Club are invited. The winners of the Tri/Cycle photo contest will be announced, and there will also be a special presentation on the Seattle Bicycle Master Plan. You can also join the club's twice-weekly group swims from 6–7 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Helene Madison Pool.
