The evening will gradually build from mild to wild with music, great food, no-host bars, interactive entertainment, and the craziest favors you've ever seen. Begin with great Pacific Northwest cuisine and the flavors of Executive Chef Eric Floyd's gala celebration buffet. While dining, dance to background music before Seattle's funniest magician, Jeff Evans, takes center stage. Then, the Crystal Ballroom becomes a classy and colorful nightclub as the bash explodes with our party deejay, dance hits from the decades, lighting effects, a champagne toast, more confetti than you can imagine, and endless collectible party favors that light up, glow, spin, or blink. Don't miss the last and most exciting party of the year! Groups of eight to 10 will be assigned reserved tables, so bring your friends, family, and co-workers. WAC Parking is validated, but when the party ends, why not let an elevator take you home? Spend the night at the Inn at the WAC. Graduates of the institute have gone on to achieve great success, such as working for MTV, Nintendo, Pixar, and Disney Studios. The guided tour will end in the Portfolio Dining Room, where a stunning view of Elliott Bay will complement a gourmet dinner prepared and served by students attending the school's exceptional culinary arts program. Meet at The Art Institute. 4:30–7 pm; $25; cancel by October 10 christmastime at thornewood castle NEW sunday, December 8 By special arrangement, the WAC is able to offer our favorite holiday combo: Thornewood Castle and the Fantasy Lights at Spanaway Park. Thornewood is a 30,000-square-foot, 54-room private residence in Lakewood. It gained recognition from the Steven King miniseries Rose Red. Many of the materials of this 1911 manor were imported from a castle in Europe, and it's one of the few private castles in the U.S. Owner and hostess Deanna Robinson will warmly welcome us to Thornewood, which she'll have decked out in holiday finery inside and out. We'll enjoy a festive sit-down luncheon featuring delicious beef Wellington amid antiques and teapots in the parlor. Relax and share the joy as special entertainment puts you in the holiday mood. You'll also have the opportunity to explore the 12 guest rooms that make up the manor's bed and breakfast. At dusk, we'll re-board the motor coach and head for the dazzling Fantasy Lights at Spanaway Park. Fantasy Lights is a spectacular holiday drive-through featuring elaborate lighted and animated displays. After this ride through a winter wonderland, snuggle up and settle in as we return to the WAC. Transportation, luncheon and "extras" included. 12 pm–6:45 pm; $88; cancel by December 2
