Across from Seattle University on Capitol Hill, Von Trapp's is a stunning and enormous bier hall and restaurant remodeled from a former furniture showroom. We've reserved three bocce ball courts and Von Trapp's mezzanine dining level, which overlooks the courts, for this evening of Oktoberfest fun. Family-style platters will allow you to try a variety of the restaurant's signature cuisine, including housemade sausages (such as bratwurst, cheddarwurst, bockwurst and kielbasa), Bavarian meatloaf sliders, sauerkraut, spätzle, and housemade pretzels. You'll also receive coupons for two glasses of European or American wine or beer, or four beer mini-samplers. Additional beverages, including cocktails, are available on an individual pay basis. Bocce instructions will be provided. So don your lederhosen and Tyrolean hats and head for Von Trapp's to celebrate Oktoberfest the WAC way. It's America's biggest touring comedy festival. Twentytwo shows; 25 days; 33 comedians from across the globe; more than $10,000 in cash prizes; and 17 venues, including the WAC. That's right, this is not your typical comedy competition. It draws talent executives from CBS, NBC and movie studios— as well as managers, agents and producers. Kick off night one of the final week at the WAC's "Comedy Club," better known as the Crystal Ballroom. Gear up for an eve- The excitement builds as plans percolate for the WAC's biggest celebration of the year. You'll look fabulous as you join the bedazzled crowd to kick off the WAC's 84th year. Libations, a moveable feast, live bands, amusements, and a Crystal Casino will all be included in this year's celebration. Plus, don't forget the announcement of the Jubilee grand prize winner.
