Tasting Notes: This vintage displays an elegant ruby on the rim with a deep currant hue in the depths of the glass. A mixture of flavors gives hints of ripe plum, black cherry jam, dark chocolate, and rich root beer. This is a classic merlot, with light tannins, spicy oak, and a lingering finish. The wine is fleshy and full-bodied with ripe dark fruit flavors. Discovery: From 300 feet above the town of Calistoga, California, visitors are offered sensational views of the Napa Valley as they ride an aerial tram up to this winery. The winery is a beautiful Mediterranean white stucco structure inspired by the Greek island of Mykonos. Ancient church bells resound from the peak of the winery on the quarter hour and can be heard on the valley floor. — Sara A. Williams is a WAC Restaurant Manager and a Level 1 Sommelier. This wine, cellared at the WAC, is now available for sale in the Club Shop.
