CLUB PROGRAMS 206.464.3060 • clubprograms@wac.net Cuba: Connecting with People and Culture Thursday, October 18 Exotic and forbidden, Cuba remains a mystery to most of us. This vibrant and beautiful country—widely known for its cigars and Ernest Hemingway—long has been inaccessible to U.S. visitors despite being only 90 miles from the Florida Keys. Tauck Tours, a third-generation family-owned tour company, has been granted a license to host people-to-people educational exchanges to Cuba. WAC members can learn more about this exciting destination from Peter Tauck. He'll share the themes surrounding this cultural exchange as well as pictures and must-knows for anyone considering a tour of Cuba. If the lure of Cuba is calling you, or if you're just curious about our often-tumultuous island neighbor, join us for an evening of enlightening discussion. No-host bar available. 6:30 pm; $25; cancel by October 8 threatening and fun. Here's how it works: PreLink starts at 6 pm and gives everyone a chance to arrive, grab a beverage, enjoy appetizers, and be ready at 6:30 pm for SpeedLink. During SpeedLink, you'll meet 15 different people in three-minute link- ups to talk about whatever you want. Everyone gets the same starter question, and you take the conversation from there. After SpeedLink, there is an all-play group activity before last call. Experience WAC Link Quarterly in a different venue each time. The Top of the WAC plays host for October's event. Join us on the 21st Floor for an evening of appetizers, socializing and networking. No reservations necessary. Just drop in. To receive WAC Link updates and reminders, email clubprograms@wac.net and type "Link List" in the subject line. Event includes complimentary appetizers and no-host bar. 6-8 pm; complimentary appetizers, cash bar. This two- hour course will help you navigate many of the important fundamentals—how to write a college essay, what colleges are looking for, what's the best college for you, how to fund college, and much more. Her broad knowledge and perspective is an asset to any student with questions about their future. Also presenting is David Aramaki, financial adviser at Ameriprise Financial. One of Aramaki's specialties is college admission counseling and financial aid. His experience guiding parents and students through college financing is a per- fect place to start.
