This four-week series will introduce kids to exercise and the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. It's offered twice per week and is intended for ages 10–14. Wednesdays: 4 – 5 pm Saturdays: 12 – 1 pm $20 class, $72/four classes, $120/eight classes; six-person minimum; 8th Floor FTR-A. For more information, contact whicks@wac.net. WAC Juniors Swim Team Encourage your swimmer to join the WAC Junior Swim Team this fall! They'll improve their skills, develop strong relationships with their teammates, and learn life lessons. The team practices in the 6th Floor pool and competes around the Puget Sound region. Coaches emphasize stroke development, conditioning, and competition preparedness. Mondays–Thursdays : 4:30–5:30 pm at the WAC pool; ages 6-plus; $55 per month/$45 for siblings; contact Jen Mesler at jmesler@wac.net. Level 5: Swimming all four race strokes (crawl stroke, backstroke, breast stroke, and butterfly) 13–25 yards, refining coordination. Fundamental understanding of stroke mechanics. Level 6: Swimming all four race strokes (crawl stroke, backstroke, breast stroke, and butterfly) 25–50 yards with refined technique. Developed understanding of stroke mechanics, turns, and dives. Foundations Approaching Swim Team (FAST) : This class focuses on building endurance, refining the four primary strokes, and introducing starts and turns. JUNIOR PROGRAMS Ballet Basics October 5–November 9 Youth ballet instructor Osiris Reynoso-Lotts will teach participants foundational skills in a fun, relaxed and musical environment. No previous experience required. This six-week series is for members ages 3–5. Please wear leotards, tights, and ballet shoes (or another soft shoe with a nonmarking sole). Traditions, discipline, respect, and mental training are a few of its benefits. Channel that excess energy into a great skill. PRIVATE CLASSES Saturday Morning Junior Basketball with Watts Basketball WAC kids have the opportunity to start learning the game of basketball from Husky legend and former profes- sional basketball player Donald Watts. Come out and learn basketball funda- mentals and basic rules of the game— and have fun! Experienced hoopsters will receive more advanced tools for quicker, stronger and smarter play. Cost: $140 for seven weeks, $25 drop- in. Private coaching is also available. Ages 5–9 (9–10 am): For beginners. Learn the fundamentals of shooting, dribbling, passing and teamwork.
