(By the way, First Lady Michelle Obama loves the gray salt caramels.) Fran's Chocolates is a family-owned Seattle-based company celebrating more than 30 years of creating artisan chocolates. In 2014, headquarters moved from Capitol Hill to a landmark building in Georgetown. Dramatic, industrial and modern—with much of the old building retained—the new space is five times the size and perfect for growth. There is even a room for tasting and chocolate education. Our private 45-minute talk-and-taste tour begins in the viewing room. We'll learn the history of Fran Bigelow and her chocolate company, learn how the confections are made, and watch truffles being hand-dipped. Finally, we'll sit at the tasting table and enjoy three or four of Fran's most delectable creations. Attendees receive a 10 percent same-day discount for purchases from the Georgetown retail store. An optional lunch at Fonda La Catrina across the street follows the tour. Meet there. Limited to 15 people. 11 am–1:30 pm; $35 tour & lunch, $12 tour only; cancel by April 13 FAMILY EVENTS Just for Teens! Hair and Makeup 101 Sunday, January 24 You could learn how to apply makeup from a friend or a YouTube video, but wouldn't you rather learn from an expert? The Spa at the WAC will present a hands- on tutorial on how to master current hair- styles and the perfect everyday makeup routine. Learn the art of curling your hair, how to achieve the perfect beach wave, and even a trendy braid or two. Next will be a lesson in natural everyday makeup. Learn how to apply foundation, bronzer, eyeliner and lipstick that will be best for you and your skin. A little lesson in skincare and the importance of sunscreen will also be shared. All attendees will leave with a goodie bag filled with some useful beauty products. 10 am−12 pm; $45; cancel by January 11 N E W Winter Family Pool Party Dive-In Movie Saturday, February 27 Watch Dory and the rest of the crew from Finding Nemo as you splash, play and swim the evening away in the WAC pool.
