E xcitement filled the WAC on Friday, December 4, as 750 Jubilee partygoers arrived at the Club clad in tuxes and gowns. Members and their guests celebrated with food, drink, and fine art. A band of musicians playing herald trumpets captured everyone's attention as they paraded down the grand staircase to the lobby stage. Champagne corks popped and the bubbly flowed as President & CEO Chuck Nelson officially welcomed all to Jubilee 86: The Art of Celebration. Chairman of the Board Tammy Young followed with an anniversary toast to the WAC's 86th year and announced the winner of the Jubilee grand prize, a cirrus white 2016 Mercedes Benz CLA250. Longtime WAC member Diane Sardeson won after 25 years of buying chances. Her winning ticket was drawn at random early in the day. The excitement of the evening steadily progressed as the crowd wined, dined, and enjoyed music, dancing and gambling. Forty performers, 80 team members, and 60 casino volunteers kept the revelry going long into the night. Living sculptures surprised the crowd, and artist Sam Day captured the evening in oil paint.
