Letter from the President & CEO Chuck Nelson, President & Chief Executive Officer / cnelson@wac.net / @cnhuskies13 H appy New Year to all! After the combination of "festivity frenzy" and "wonderful spirit of reflection and joy" that comes with the holiday season, January flips us over to looking forward with anticipation and purpose. Our calendars are clean, and we have the opportunity to think of the next 12 months as a time of growth and progress and accomplishment. Oh, the things we can do this year! The WAC is no different. The Club continues to push evolution and improvement, taking a great thing and working to make it even better. This month you will see a more interactive and resourceful version of wac.net. The Club's website will have an entirely new look, and members will be able to more easily access the day's schedule of events and fitness classes, make reservations at the Inn at the WAC, and view their member statement. These are the first steps in a continual rollout of improvements to give members the information they most frequently seek in a simpler yet more dynamic way. I hope you made the WAC part of your holiday fun. Over 600 people enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner prepared by the WAC—either in the buffet, the a la carte menu, or with a take-home meal. Almost 800 reveled in Jubilee 86, with hundreds more taking Santa photos, enjoying Holiday Shoppers Teas, or taking advantage of great gift ideas and delicious snacks at the WAC Holiday Open House. Not only that, but office parties, informal gatherings of friends, and Seahawks watch parties had the restaurants and private dining rooms rocking. And didn't the Clubhouse look spectacular dressed in its winter finest! There are so many more fun things on the way. Come see competitive collegiate athletics at its best at The Main Event (see page 26) or help honor the best big men in Pac-12 football at the Morris Trophy luncheon (see page 28). If that inspires you to be your own best athletic self, hit the gym on your own or with our world-class personal trainers—or get going in one of our more than 100 fitness classes weekly. Now's the time! Invite the people you like to be part of the fun. The WAC's Friends & Family membership drive provides a great opportunity to build and share your club with the people you enjoy spending time with. Share the social, business, and fitness fun that goes on here. Email membershipinfo@wac.net for more on Friends & Family. Unique experiences and memories take place at the WAC every day, and better lives are built here. So away we go with 2016 and another new year. Keep your resolutions and enjoy life more. Take full advantage of the opportunities in front of you. Say yes more often. And spend more time with friends and family doing the things you love. The Washington Athletic Club is all about adventure and a strong quality of life. Come on in! Come on in!
