where we'll enjoy some charcuterie and cheese. While we're there, take in some facts about our fair city's checkered beginnings. We'll conclude the tour with a surprise third stop near Pioneer Square. Event includes guided tour and three local restaurant stops. 6–8 pm; $75; cancel by August 12 N E W Lamborghini Museum Saturday, September 12 Hidden in Interbay, Italian luxury sports car manufacturer Automobili Lamborghini has opened a technology and engineering museum next to its Advanced Composite Structures Laboratory (ACSL). The ACSL, also known as the "Lambo Lab," researches, invents, tests and manufactures carbon- fiber products to make Lamborghini cars faster, lighter, and more fuel-efficient. The lab also develops advanced composite structures for Boeing, Mitsubishi, Rocky Mountain bicycles, Callaway golf clubs, and others. A one-hour guided tour of the museum begins with an introduction to carbon fiber and composite materials. Then follow the revolutionary manufacturing techniques Lamborghini developed in Italy and Seattle. Also see the latest advanced carbon-fiber technologies, including Carbonskin, a leather-like soft carbon fabric used for car interiors, and Forged Composite, which replaces complex metal parts. The museum features bits and pieces of all sorts of Lamborghinis, including carbon components of production models, prototypes, and show cars—from the very first Countach engine bonnet to the Sesto Elemento chassis. This is a great opportunity to see the engineering, research, and science behind why Lamborghinis are fast and Boeing planes fly. Optional no-host lunch nearby. Limited to 12 people per tour. Tour times: 10–11:15 am and 11:30 am– 12:45 pm; $15; cancel by September 3 N E W Come Fly, Let's Fly with Kenmore Air Saturday, October 3 In 1946, three friends started Kenmore Air following President Truman's proclamation of the end of World War II. Named after Pioneer Square–New and Old Thursday, August 20 Come experience Pioneer Square like never before with guides from Savor Seattle Food Tours and the Seattle Architecture Foundation for a first-time collaboration. We'll explore and experi- ence this ever-changing and historic part of the city through the eyes of a historian and a gourmet. The buildings have sto- ries to tell from more than 160 years of use and reinvention, most recently with hip new urban places to eat, drink, mix and mingle. After walking a bit while taking in some of our city's history, our first stop will be at Altstadt on First Avenue South for a glass of spiced wine, one of this German bier haus restaurant's specialties. Then on to the next tour seg- ment that includes a stop at Good Bar, located in the beautifully restored Pacific Commercial Building (circa 1900), museum's significant collection preserves the Microsoft story that started 40 years ago, tracing the evolution of computers and how people use them. A living museum, the computers have been renovated and are in working order, including some that are the only ones in the world in functioning condition. As you step back in time with the exhibits, you are encouraged to interact with the machines of yesteryear. Whether you know a little or a lot about computers, our narrated tour will tell the story of how they have changed our lives, how technology has developed through the decades, and how computers will steer us into the future. Prior to the tour, join an optional no-host lunch in Torchy's before catching Metro to the museum.
