Advanced Adult Swim lessons For adults who can swim laps and have a basic knowledge of all four primary strokes. In class, you will refine stroke technique, breath control, starts and turns, and endurance work. This class is a great precursor to joining the WAC Masters Swim Team, lap swimming or triathlon training. Wednesdays: 1:30–2:30 pm September 11–October 2 November 6–November 27 $60/four-week session; ages 18+ note: Please register online at wac.net/ athletics/schedules. Aqua Boot Camp A high-intensity, low-impact workout for athletes and non-athletes alike who want a tough workout without aggravating knees, hips and other injury-prone joints. Friday: 10:45–11:45 am Aqua Zumba This class gives new meaning to the idea of an invigorating workout. Splash, stretch and twist your way to better fitness. Integrating the Zumba formula and philosophy with traditional aqua fitness disciplines, this class offers a safe and challenging water-based workout that includes cardio conditioning, body toning, and exhilaration. Monday: 11–11:45 am tuesday/thursday: 7–7:45 am Joints in Motion Ease joint and muscle pain. This class takes participants through gentle rangeof-motion, joint-mobility and flexibility exercises. It is appropriate for those suffering from arthritis or muscle pain and stiffness or those recovering from an injury. Monday/Wednesday: 10:30–11 am; free with Fitness Advantage Age Group Swim team Build endurance, refine technique, compete and make friends. Learn the latest techniques and technology in and out of the water to take your swimming to the next level. For ages 4 and up. Monday–thursday: 4–5 pm; through September; $55/month ($45/month for each additional child). Annual USA Swimming Registration fee of $64. Online registration ongoing. Masters Swim team The Masters Swim Team is a great opportunity for adult swimmers to participate in organized workouts to enhance endurance and improve stroke technique. Master swimmers are encouraged to attend practice regularly and to compete. Monday–thursday: 6:30–7:30 pm $30/month private Swim lessons The WAC aquatics team offers lessons designed to suit anyone's needs. Private lessons available during family swim times, based on instructor availability. For ages 3 and up. private lessons: $35 per lesson; $120 four-lesson package Semiprivate lessons (two-person limit): $45 per lesson; $160 four-lesson package Prices based on 30-minute lesson Cancel 24 hours in advance for refund COurt SpOrtS Badminton nights The WAC gym hosts open badminton play on the first and third Wednesday of every month. Donald Watts, a former Husky and professional basketball player, brings his master coaching to the WAC. Washington State Consensus Player of the Year in 1995, Watts reached his heights in Seattle with two NCAA appearances. He motivates with a progressive technique that combines the mental, physical and technical aspects of the game. Sign up to work on your game one-on-one, with a partner or in a small group.
