Motown e Musical is the true story of Motown founder Berry Gordy Jr.'s journey from featherweight boxer to heavyweight music mogul. Gordy launched the careers of Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Smokey Robinson, and many more. Motown shattered barriers, shaped our lives, and made us all move to the same beat. Motown e Musical is an entertaining show for all ages; theatergoers will love the energetic dance numbers and nonstop music. The show contains minimal adult language and references. It's an easy, non-threatening way to introduce or reintroduce yourself to other members and happenings at the Club. The night begins with PreLink at 6 pm, giving everyone a chance to arrive, grab a beverage, and enjoy appetizers. Be ready at 6:30 for SpeedLink. During SpeedLink, you'll meet 15 different people in casual 3-minute link-ups. Everyone gets the same starter question and you take the conversation from there. Direct from Broadway comes Newsies, the smash-hit new musical from Disney. Based on the real-life Newsboy Strike of 1899, this musical tells the story of Jack Kelly, a rebellious newsboy who dreams of a life as an artist away from the big city. After publishing giant Joseph Pulitzer raises newspaper prices at the newsboys' expense, Kelly and his fellow newsies take action. With help from reporter Katherine Plumber, all of New York City soon recognizes the power of the little man. Winner of the 2012 Tony Awards for best score and best choreography, Newsies is filled with an explosion of song and dance you don't want to miss.
