20 | Washington Athletic Club Magazine | MARCH / APRIL 2016 Teamworks OCTOBER DAVINA MAGEO BANQUET COOK NOVEMBER SCOTT MILLER PILATES INSTRUCTOR AND MASSAGE THERAPIST Scott has been teaching Pilates for 15 years and practicing massage therapy for 21. He was recently recognized for his leadership as one of the founders of the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards, which works to ensure that the practice of massage therapy is provided safely and effectively. It was no surprise to his coworkers when Scott was named Team Member of the Month. "He truly represents the WAC's values while bringing great expertise, passion, energy and excellence to his crafts," says Senior Vice President Athletics, Special Projects & Community Partners Wayne Milner. When asked what he likes best about working at the WAC, Scott says: "I love the people I work with. They are the best people around." Davina has worked at the WAC for the past five years, primarily in the 3rd Floor banquet kitchen. A graduate of Tukwila's Le Cordon Bleu culinary school, she started working in the Club's bakery as part of an externship. Executive Chef Eric Floyd has nothing but praise for Davina. "She is a true role model," he says. "Her work ethic is second to none … and she strives for excellence every day." Eric calls Davina a go-getter. Davina says working at the Club is about building experiences and constantly learning. "There is always growth working in the kitchen," she says. DECEMBER TONY EGASHIRA BANQUET COOK TEAM MEMBER OF THE MONTH Tony began working at the Club in 2011 as an intern in the 2nd Floor kitchen. Following his internship, he worked in the 3rd Floor pantry, helping with banquets. Tony eventually took over as employee cook and happily feeds more than 150 team members daily. Tony continues to help throughout the kitchen, but his primary role is preparing and stocking the employee lunchroom buffet. "Tony is hard working … a team player and a model employee," Executive Chef Eric Floyd says. Tony says he likes creating dishes his coworkers enjoy and challenges himself with vegetarian cooking.
