Opened in 2005, it was immediately ranked as one of the best new courses in America. The 7,231-yard track designed by Robert Yount and Don Barth has five tee boxes per hole and weaves through 350 acres of emerald-colored fairways, rolling terrain, natural plateaus and bent grass greens. An elevation gain of 700 feet makes for exciting golf at every level. HIGHLANDER GOLF CLUB 2920 Eighth Street SE East Wenatchee, WA 98802 509.884.4653 www.highlandergolfclub.com The Highlander Golf Club sits 800 feet above the Columbia River on the eastern slopes of the Cascade mountain range, 150 miles from Seattle. A truly magnificent site, its dramatic vistas and gaping pot bunkers echo the rugged Scottish Highlands, devoid of trees but rich in windswept fescue grasses and undulating ground. It was routed by John Steidel and built by Jim Haley, who shaped the classic links course at Bandon Dunes. With a course and slope rating of 70.9 and 125, its 6,466 yards are challenging even in the best conditions. Sweeping prairies, desert basins and expansive lakes replicate a Scottish links experience. Six inches of filtered topsoil lie beneath the fairways, laying down a pristine canvas. Moses Pointe, designed by Dave Soushek and Mike Moore in 1999, is 7,428 yards from the tips, rates 75.6 with a 134 slope and is a favorite test for golfers throughout the Pacific Northwest. Designed by Robert Muir Graves, Port Ludlow provides a challenging and rewarding golf experience. Go hole to hole and wind through lush greens and fairways that overlook lakes and streams, hazards that provide a challenge for any golfer. Towering evergreens open up to stunning views of Hood Canal, Ludlow Bay and the Olympic and Cascade mountains. And you'll enjoy the spectacular natural surroundings where deer roam, eagles fly and wildflowers explode with color.
