Letter from the President & CEO Chuck Nelson, President & Chief Executive Officer / cnelson@wac.net / @cnhuskies13 I was recently asked by a relatively new WAC member if the Club was busier than it used to be. His sense was that even in the couple of years that he has been a member, Club use seems to be on the rise. He also said he had started really digging into WAC Magazine, and that "there is really a lot going on!" The magazine is a true bibliography of the broad and complete amenities and programming your club offers. In this issue, there are: • 12 pages of listings for Club Programs, including upcoming holiday events and a bunch of great shows; • 10 pages of listings for fitness and athletics, including more than 100 classes and training opportunities; and • Six pages committed to our Wellness Center and Spa offerings, including great gift ideas for members and guests alike. How fun it would be to pick one item from each page and try them during the next two months—then start all over when the November/December issue comes out! The Clubhouse was certainly speeding along all summer. As we near the end of our 85th year, the percentage of members participating in Fitness Advantage is at an all-time high, Inn at the WAC occupancy by members and their sponsored guests has never been higher, and our three restaurants are regularly serving well over 400 people daily. Members continue to provide more than 100 responses every month on WAC Listens (waclistens.com). The feedback offers great insights into what the Club is doing well and where it can get better. I'm happy to say the overall score for the WAC continues to rise consistently. The WAC is busy, and its finances and member experiences are steadily improving. It has been fun to see the great history and traditions of the Club highlighted in the magazine this year. Not only is it nostalgic to see the black-and-white photographs of former WAC spaces, events and members, but it also drives home the point of the necessity of the Club to be both respectful of that history and to continue to evolve. As members and team members, we all need to be committed to making the WAC even more successful. We have a responsibility to the former members who built this place, to the current membership, and to the member community that will follow in our footsteps. What will the WAC Magazine article and photos celebrating the Club's 100th and 125th anniversaries say about the change and improvements of the next few years and decades? Let's evolve and build that future together. Growing for good
