This religious satire is the first musical comedy composed by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone and Avenue Q's Robert Lopez. It tells the story of two young missionaries, Elder Price and Elder Cunningham, sent to Uganda to fulfill their religious duties for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. What happens to the missionaries in poor, hungry, AIDS-plagued Africa is, well, "it's R-rated, hilarious, humane, and the basis of an exhilarating Broadway musical at once revolutionary and classic, funny and obscene, uncompromising in production standards, and unafraid of just about anything else," says Entertainment Weekly.
