Start on your back with your legs in tabletop position, holding a kettlebell straight above your chest. 2. Lower the kettlebell with control toward the ground behind your head a couple inches off of the ground. 3. Return back to the starting position, inhaling as you do, and repeat. Two especially big hits around the Club were our "Adopt a Sailor" event and the presence of the Blue Angels pilots. Visiting sailors had the opportunity to visit Seattle for Oh, how we love Seafair time S E P T E M B E R | 2 0 1 4 WAC member conquers K2 THE AUGUST ISSUE OF WAC Magazine included a story about WAC member Garrett Madison's plans to climb K2. As an update, he safely summited K2—the second highest point on Earth—last month. is is especially good news given that K2 is widely considered the most dangerous mountain on earth to climb. Twenty- five percent of climbers who attempt it don't make it back. Garrett, who led two other climbers on the trek, became the 16th American ever to make the summit. Seafair's Fleet Week, and 20 WAC members were gracious enough to host sailors for a nice evening about town. For the WAC's "Adopt a Sailor" event, members met visiting sailors at the Club for a reception and then were free to take the sailor wherever they wanted to go. Many started with dinner at Torchy's and took it from there. Member Liz Wilson took one sailor to the top the Space Needle, while John and Terese Platt hosted five sailors for a salmon barbecue at their house. e Inn at the WAC also hosted the Blue Angels for their stay in Seattle. Members enjoyed seeing our high-flying guests walking around the Club and making their exit from the WAC Garage. e pilots' amazing tricks and skills were on display over Seattle during the Boeing Seafair Air Show. It was great to have them back this year. The Blue Angel pilots were seen throughout the Club during Seafair week. Garrett Madison summits K2.
