One of the most recognized productions, it was created in 1983 by artistic director Kent Stowell and the late Maurice Sendak, beloved author and illustrator. Sendak, known for Where the Wild ings Are, designed the costumes and decorative sets. Combined with Stowell's dramatic chore- ography, this production is larger than life. e stage is filled with enchantment as dancers twirl and snowflakes swirl, all with the familiar score of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker.
