{ KRISTIN PERRY MARTINEZ } Member since 2014 A few years ago, Kristin Martinez reconnected with an old sorority sister from the University of Washington—Jennifer Friedrich Wood. Jennifer quickly realized that Kristin and husband Ryan would fit right in at the WAC. This past spring, Kristin and Ryan joined the Club with their two sons, Felix and Oliver (who are pictured left to right with their parents). The Martinez family lives in Magnolia, and both kids attend school on Capitol Hill. Ryan is a physician at Swedish Medical Center. "We were looking for a place where the entire family would have something to do," Kristin says. "We heard many good things about the holiday celebrations and family activities at the WAC." Ryan enjoys taking the boys swimming at Helene Madison Pool and often comes in alone before work to exercise. Kristin recently enjoyed dinner at Torchy's with some girlfriends after attending an event downtown. "It's a good middle ground between home and school," Kristin says. "There are so many places to gather, and it's just a nice central community." She also plans to look into personal training and to take advantage of the WAC's fitness offerings. "That was an important aspect for me," she says. Since joining, Kristin and family are continuing to find new Club outlets and social activities. Ryan is also looking at the basketball league. "There are so many fun things to do as a family here," Kristin says. "We look forward to what our membership will bring."
