CLUB PROGRAMS 206.464.3060 • clubprograms@wac.net A Room With A View at the 5th Avenue April 15–May 11 This enchanting new musical, based on the E.M. Forster novel, is set in the same era as Downton Abbey, in a world of privilege and tradition on the precipice of change. Amid the golden sunlight and violet-covered hills of Tuscany, sheltered English girl Lucy Honeychurch meets freethinker George Emerson. For the first time, she glimpses a world of longing and passion she's never imagined. Back in her corseted Edwardian life, Lucy must decide whether to yield to convention or give up everything she has ever known. This NEW We Will Rock You July 8–13 We Will Rock You is the smash rock musical based on the songs of Queen with a book by Ben Elton. The story takes place in a future age on a planet once called Earth that is now controlled by a mighty corporation. Globalization is complete. Individuality is taboo. Everyone watches the same movies, wears the same clothes, and thinks the same thoughts. Music is generated by the corporation's computers, rock music is unheard of, and all musical instruments are banned. The hope of breaking free rests with an unlikely resistance—an alliance of rebel Bohemians waiting for a hero to lead the battle to bring the power of rock back to the people. With 24 of Queen's biggest hits, the show beguiling romantic comedy about breaking with convention and living life to the fullest features a wonderfully rich contemporary score that reflects the lushness of the period and brings new life to this timeless tale.
