For some, it is Seattle's best place to work out, with so many options, styles and venues. For others, it is the fun found at the more than 300 Club Program events each year. For others still, it is the increasingly popular Torchy's and Hagerty's eating and drinking spots. Then again, others visit the Club most often for family gatherings. However you look at it, there truly is something for everyone. The WAC provides a great community and a place to congregate with others who also find value in their membership here. The Club has also, for all of its 84-year history, provided a great place to build a network around the business and commerce of this great city. The Club was founded by, and continues to serve, leaders in the areas of finance, real estate, and technology ... law and law enforcement … the sports and philanthropic communities … and service industries. Every day you can see business veterans plotting strategy over local draft beers in Hagerty's or a signature cocktail in the wonderful new Torchy's Bar, or a young professional getting sage advice from an industry titan one treadmill over. Business relationships are formed after meeting a vendor on a WAC committee or at Jubilee. Job offers come about when someone learns your true character after a competitive basketball league game. Inside the walls of the WAC, relationships of all kids are formed, and opportunities to learn and grow develop. Places to go and people to meet? Yep, that's the WAC. This all-encompassing enrichment of so many areas of members' lives is what makes the Club special. Whether for business, social or fitness purposes, using the Washington Athletic Club to its fullest provides great emotional and practical value. Look through this special two-month issue of WAC Magazine, or go to wac.net, and pick out a Club offering that is new to you. Experience it, and bring a friend. You may find participating pure fun, make new friends along the way, or discover a potential business relationship. All of those are great things, and great things happen at the WAC.
