Board our motor coach at the WAC and then head north to the quaint town of La Conner, where lunch and spectacular views await at the Waterfront Café. After lunch, browse the town's eclectic boutiques, galleries, antiques, or the Skagit County Museum ($5 admission not included) before we visit the historic Victorian B.L. Martin home for a tour, champagne and dessert. B.L. Martin was a friend of Mr. Conner, for whom La Conner is named. Finally, we'll head to the colorful fields at Tulip Town and Roozengaarde, the Tulip Festival's premier stops. Bring your camera to capture the vast acres of brilliantly colored fields and millions of tulips in full bloom. Stroll through the endless waves of tulips or stop and chat with the tulip growers. The gardens are labeled so you can purchase your favorite bulbs, cut flowers, or potted tulips to bring back home. The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival is the celebration of spring, and the tulip is the world's peace flower. Calling all 20s/30s members for an excursion south to watch the Sounders take on the rival Timbers at Jen-Weld Field. Our time in Portland is a partnership with the WAC 20s/30s Committee and 20s/30s members of the Multnomah Athletic Club. We'll share a toast at a hosted social as you mix and mingle with MAC members. The sound of pounding hooves and hearts give the sport of thoroughbred racing its own rhythm, intensity, and even its own language. Take in all of the glory of horse racing and spend a day at Emerald Downs. The day of the tour also marks the 2014 Preakness. If this isn't enough excitement, Emerald Downs will be featuring RAINN'EM, a fun event where teams race their inflatable bouncy horses down the track in between horse races. You'll enjoy all the sights and sounds of race day from a triple crown suite, which will feature private wagering, stunning views of the race track, as well as a full buffet brimming with iced prawns and flank steak.
