"Solomon and I have developed great chemistry on and off the court," Spencer says. "It's been great to get to know him better at the WAC." Spencer grew up with the WAC. His dad, Jeff, is also a basketball player. Father and son both played for the Uni- versity of Washington. Solomon joined the Club in 2018 and played his college ball for Florida State University. "While the talent level is a tad lower than the NBA, the competitive fire is not," Spencer says of the WAC league. "I very much look forward to our weekly games as an outlet to compete and to improve my game." Spencer and Solomon faced each oth- er twice during their NBA days, when Spencer's Philadelphia 76ers matched up against Solomon's Toronto Raptors. "e WAC basketball league has been such a fun experience," says Solomon, who discovered WAC hoops aer moving to Seattle in 2015. "When I moved here, a friend introduced me to pickup games at the WAC. So, aer I retired from professional basketball in 2018, I knew I wanted to become a WAC member." e WAC basketball league makes meeting other members easy. "Our dra sets us apart from other basketball leagues," Darin says. "It's great because it takes the hassle out of getting a team together yourself." All players are added to the appro- priate dra pool based on skill level and experience, and each season features new rosters and new teams. "Everyone in the WAC league comes out to play simply for the love of basket- ball," Solomon says.
