34 | WAC Magazine | wac.net T AYLOR ROMAR WAS A UNIVERSITY of Washington cheerleader when she met Greg Walker, a safety and special teams player for the Husky football team. At the time, they were both freshmen—Walker from Southern California and Romar the daughter of Washington's men's basketball coach. "I wish I could say we met when he caught the winning touchdown and ran into me on the sidelines," Taylor says. "But it was simpler than that. A mutual friend introduced us, and we've seen each other every day since." eir friendship blossomed into romance. Four years later, at Taylor's graduation party, Greg proposed. Choosing the WAC for their wedding venue was the easy part. "From the moment we walked in we had a warm welcome," Taylor says. "e whole expe- rience was phenomenal." Taylor and Greg wed in the summer of 2013 with almost 200 guests in attendance. e couple chose the Crystal Ballroom for their ceremony and reception. Historic touch- es, sparkling light cast by ornate Czechoslo- vakian chandeliers, and a downtown location inside the WAC Clubhouse make the ballroom a natural choice for those seeking city style, club privacy, and personalized service. With a wedding party of 20 as well as a violinist, a harpist, and a vocalist for their cer- emony, Taylor and Greg had their hands full. WAC Catering Director Rick Cardona helped everything go smoothly. "He made the whole process stress-free," Taylor says.
