6 | WAC Magazine | wac.net from the Chairman and President & CEO Taking care of business I wrote this letter the morning aer Jubilee. Every year, I marvel at how the Club trans- forms for our annual gala and then, just as quickly, shis back to business as usual. Many thanks go to the team members who help make this happen, and to the WAC members and their guests who attended this year's sold-out party—all 750 of you! Speaking of "back to business," the start of every year means the WAC Board of Gov- ernors and the WAC executive team turn our attention to planning for the next fiscal year. As we do, I think it's a good time to remind our members about the importance of membership growth. Not only do new members bring their own wonder- ful experiences and backgrounds to our diverse club, but they also help secure our future. Our ability to grow impacts the Club at every level. Seattle is one of the country's fastest-growing big cities. You've probably noticed new faces in your neighborhood, around your office, and here at the WAC. When you see someone new at the Club, please welcome them. When you meet someone new outside the Clubhouse, be sure to tell them what you love about the WAC. If they're new to the area, let them know the social and professional benefits of membership. Aer all, there's no better place to connect with Seattle than at the corner of Sixth and Union. Finally, the Elevator Modernization Project commences in January. e four high-rise elevators will be taken offline, one at a time, for approximately three months each. ree high-rise cars will remain in service at all times. Members who take the stairs during this time will help keep things running smoothly. ink of it as an easy way to meet your resolution for a healthier lifestyle. anks, and happy 2017!
