20 | Washington Athletic Club Magazine | JUNE / JULY 2015 I moved to Seattle in 2005 and didn't know many people. One of the main reasons I joined the WAC was to expand my network. The Club has provided opportunities to meet great people and so much more. I continue to be amazed at the array of first-class services and experiences offered here. My first WAC experiences involved fitness classes on the 8th Floor. Soon thereafter, my husband joined the men's basketball league and I began to train with a small group for my first triathlon. I quickly realized how much more the WAC had to offer. For starters, I joined the 20s/30s Committee. From yoga to WeeWACs, the WAC has evolved and enriched my family's life at every stage. We look forward to December's Santa photos and Jubilee as well as to many other events. My oldest daughter and I attended our first GingerMania and Mother Daughter Tea this past year. Whatever my family does here—snow tubing, shucking oysters, and Family Fun Night also come to mind—the WAC continues to provide memorable experiences. Attending Club events has become a regular part of our social life, and we've developed wonderful friendships because of our involvement here. I continue to be impressed at the level of service I experience in every department. I would like to thank Vice President Club Programs Melissa Borders and her team—Robert Laurent, Mary Ellen Jilek, and Cheryl Simmons—for their incredible devotion to the WAC mission of enriching lives. I am proud to have led the Program Board this past fiscal year. It's been an honor to serve alongside the other board and committee members. Thank you for your time, creativity and energy spent making this Club such a special place. I look forward to the coming year and the leadership of new Program Board Chair Ron Robin.
