What makes this place so special to me are the people I have met, the relationships I have formed, and the friends I have made that will last a lifetime. ere are endless stories among members about relationships and friendships formed at the Club. e friendships I have formed at the WAC have been an impactful part of my life. e best relationships are fun, honest, accepting and respectful. I have been fortunate to be surrounded by so many members who have these qualities. It reinforces my message that as a member your engagement determines your experience. Ultimately, our engagement as WAC members impacts the Club's financial results and our ability to grow and adapt our offerings. I would be remiss if I didn't mention my children's experience at the WAC. omas and Kady are both graduates of Saturday morning Red Cross swim lessons and Hall of Fame candidates for my beloved WeeWACs. When omas got his driver's license, I changed my membership back to family. Both kids now have their WAC membership cards and proudly display them upon entering the Club. ey have come full circle as they now come to the Club to work out, study in the Sports Café, or park in the WAC Garage when they visit downtown with friends. ey see themselves as members of the WAC. Sure, their mom is Chairwoman, but they're developing their own identities and relationships with the Club. I encourage you to take a moment to consider all the people you have met or connected with, in business or otherwise, because you're a WAC member. I hope all the people I have met in passing or developed stronger relationships with understand how much they matter to me and how each of them has become part of my DNA as a member of the Washington Athletic Club. Best, A friendly (and family) affair
