WINTER / SPRING 2023 11 2003 first take the main event / athletics open house Our annual Athletics Open House returns to the Clubhouse on ursday, April 13. is one-day showcase offers members and guests a chance to learn about fitness offerings, wellness services, sports teams, open recreation times, training and coaching opportunities, and much more! Fitness at the WAC starts with our five floors of world-class athletic facili- ties but goes beyond the Clubhouse, as well. We field a variety of sports teams that have won city championships and competed on the national stage. We also proudly support members racing in high-level triathlon and endurance events, and we are the official athletic club of the Seattle Seawolves and Seafair Triathlon. All of this, and more, comes togeth- er in one place, for one day, during the Athletics Open House. Here's a closer look at e Main Event … by the numbers. Big nights! The Main Event became a two-night affair in 2015. Previously, the event took place on one night only. 2 20 HOURS to set up the ring, lights, carpet, chairs, tables, banners, and sound system in the 8th Floor gym. Total tables in the 8th Floor Gym. The year college boxers were first invited. Before that, the event, which started in 1997, featured non- collegiate amateur boxers. Schools expected to attend. 65 11 500 Attendees across two nights.
