Get started in group fitness classes, sign up for person- al training, or find your own routine in Men's, Women's, or Coed fitness. "Just get moving," WAC Fitness Programs Man- ager George Sommerrock says. "I always suggest group fitness classes. ey're a great way to join a supportive environ- ment and hold yourself accountable. Even if it's just one class a week, you'll realize physical and mental benefits right away." George teaches a variety of fitness classes along with more than a dozen other WAC instructors. "Folks that love movement and the endorphin rush tend to gravitate toward these classes," George says, standing in the 4th Floor fitness studio aer a recent workout. First-tim- ers can expect dynamic instruction, group support, and a serious workout. "Hard work is contagious," George says. "It's a lot easier to feel motivated when you know you're in it with others." Another benefit of group fitness classes is that many of them offer full- body workouts and a combination of cardio and strength training. "It's like a one-stop shop," George says, getting ready for ReBoot, one of the higher-in- tensity classes he teaches. "ReBoot jumps right in and gets you breathing hard and sweating right away. A lot of members love that." For members just getting into group fitness classes or anyone seeking an entry-level workout, he suggests Get Fit classes, which offer low-impact exercises many members appreciate for recovery or aer a long hiatus from the gym. "It doesn't matter where you start," George says. "It just matters that you actually start."
