After a yearlong hiatus, The Main Event returned in striking fashion to reintroduce
itself as one of the country's premier college fight nights and a perennial WAC
favorite. Members dressed to the nines and shared laughs over dinner and a
comedy show in the Crystal Ballroom before filling the 8th Floor gym to watch
boxers from 12 schools across the nation duke it out in the ring. Air Force
Academy's Leonardo Camacho and the University of Washington's Karolyna Garcia-
Marin claimed the coveted Ed Weichers Most Outstanding Boxer Awards. It's safe
to say that this year's Main Event—yet again—lived up to its name.
