We'll explore the new space and art from around Asia—from Vietnam to Iran—including ancient Buddhist sculptures, iconic Japanese screens, and contemporary Chinese vases. Dust off your tropical shirts, skirts, and sandals for an evening of Hawaiian culture and fun. Direct from Honolulu, Artistic Director and Kumu Hula Michael Pili Pang will share the history of hula and how it continues to be an integral part of Hawaiian culture. We'll enjoy watching a traditional hula performance and then we'll learn to hula! Take a break from the city and surround yourself with palm trees, coconuts, and the feeling of being on a tropical Hawaiian island. Light pu pus (appetizers) and a tropical drink will be served. Or maybe you're a newer resident and haven't made the trip? Either way, here's your chance! Cut out of work early and join fellow WAC members for a visit to Chihuly Garden and Glass, followed by a trip up the Space Needle. We'll begin with a private tour through rooms of incredible glass displays by world- renowned glass artist Dale Chihuly. Then, it's up to new heights at the Space Needle for the most incredible views of the Emerald City. Meet at the WAC, then hop on the monorail to Seattle Center.
