NOVEMBER / DECEMBER 2020 15 taste cocktails / brunch KENTUCKY MULLED CIDER By Peter Christian, Vice President Food & Beverage Fall has arrived, and few drinks take the chill out of our bones like a Kentucky mulled cider. Our version highlights Maker's Mark 46, a robust bourbon made using seared staves of French oak. That wood finishing delivers notes of vanilla and caramel perfect for a Kentucky mulled cider. This drink is simple to prepare, but you can take it to the next level by mulling your own cider. Try studding an apple with cloves and tossing it into a pot of Northwest apple ci- der with cinnamon sticks, allspice berries, and orange zest. Or, keep it simple. Either way, we're sure you'll welcome fall with a smile. Cocktail Corner O L I V I A B R E N T Kentucky Mulled Cider Add Maker's Mark 46 bourbon to a mug.
