NOVEMBER / DECEMBER 2020 23 club life By Tammy Young, WAC Foundation President You might be scratching your head and wondering what makes this an important time to support the WAC Foundation. Here's the simple answer! With in-club activity and spending down, revenues have contracted. When cash flow from regular club operations is tight, our capital budget shrinks. We've done everything we can to contain costs, but we can't defer the entire spend required to maintain our beautiful historic landmark. at's where the WAC Foundation comes in. As we navigate this challenging time, the Club will rely more on the Foundation to fund necessary capital projects. As stewards of our historic building, a national historic landmark, it's important to keep it in good working order for today and enhance it for tomorrow. As you think about end-of-year giving, join me in making a donation to the WAC Foundation. e Foundation can accept giving of all types and sizes, including one- time and recurring gis as well as appreciated stock. Donations are tax deductible and, as a 501(c)(3), the Foundation also qualifies for most employers' gi-matching programs. Your help in maintaining and enhancing our historic "second home" is truly appreciated. What better way to end a historic year than with a gi to help support the WAC Clubhouse for years to come!
