Come out and learn basketball fundamentals and basic rules of the game—and have fun shooting hoops. Experienced hoopsters will receive more-advanced tools for quicker, stronger and smarter play. Saturdays: Sign up for seven weeks for $105; $20/daily drop-in Starters divisions (ages 5–9); 9–10 am For beginners. Learn fundamentals of shooting, dribbling, passing and teamwork. Mid-range shooters (ages 9–13); 10–11 am For players who have learned the fundamentals and are ready to incorporate them into game situations. KIDS DAnCe ClASS Learn to dance hip hop, swing and alternative. Instructor Chloe Shaffer will take kids through some basic moves, choreograph a routine, and encourage fun. Learn basic karate punches, strikes, blocks and kicks from Tom Tanaka, the WAC's karate instructor. Ages 5+ teenS & tWeenS Junior lifeguarding July 15–19, 10 am–5 pm Junior Lifeguarding will introduce participants to the skills needed for entry into the American Red Cross lifeguarding course; communication and decision-making skills; the basic responsibilities of a lifeguard; and the basic knowledge and skills required to be a lifeguard. This course is designed for kids from 11 to 14 years old. Ten-year-olds who have finished fifth grade may also attend. Attendees must be able to complete the prerequisite skills.
